Ingredients

1/4 cup Butter

1 package (10 oz.) marshmallows

2 tablespoons Orange-flavored gelatin

6 cups Rice crispies cereal

1/2 cup Candy corn

Preparation

Combine margarine and marshmallows in 2-quart glass bowl. Microwave (high), uncovered, 2 1/2 to 3 minutes or until marshmallows are puffed. Add orange gelatin; mix until combined. Stir in cereal until well coated. Mix in candy corn. Cool long enough to handle.

With buttered hands, form mixture into 24 balls. Place on waxed paper until cool. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap for storage.

Cook's Notes

Mixture can be pressed into 13x9 inch baking pan and cut into squares.
Tips: Pieces of cut black licorice can be substituted for candy corn.

I haven't made these yet, but I think the recipe is great. I have made copies of the recipe, printed on brightly colored paper, to send to my grandchildren. It will be fun to hear how these Halloween treats turn out. What a delightful, multi- generational project. Thank you, Meals Matter.

I made these without adding the orange gelatin and they were pretty good. I would suggest if you don't want the orange flavor but still want the color, you could add food coloring to the melted mixture.
